Party Options
At the HEIAN JINGU SHRINE Restaurant & Banquet Hall, guests can enjoy not only refined traditional Kyoto cuisine but also authentic Japanese cultural experiences. Please enjoy various cultural experiences such as a visit to the "Shobi-kan (Kihin-kan)", which is a guesthouse that was relocated from the Kyoto Imperial Palace and is not open to the public, formal ceremonial prayers held at the Heian Jingu Shrine, along with other cultural events such as Japanese tea ceremonies and Japanese sake tastings that are led by professionals in their respective fields.
【Not Open to the Public】 A Party Plan with Admission to the Shobi-kan (Kihin-kan)

The Shobi-kan is an elegant building that adds to the charm of the Shin-en Garden. The building was originally built in the Kyoto Imperial Palace (Gosho) for the Kyoto Exposition during the Meiji period and was relocated to its current location as a Guest House (Kihin-kan) for the Heian Jingu Shrine. The building is not open to the public but can be specially visited as a part of this party plan. Please come and enjoy a visit to this special building on a tour led by the Shinto priest of the Heian Jingu Shrine.

Formal Ceremonial Prayer Plan

Kyoto functioned as the capital of Japan for over 1,000 years. This 1,000-year history began when Emperor Kanmu officially returned the capital to Heian-kyo (modern day Kyoto). For this party plan you can experience a formal ceremonial prayer at the main shrine building (Honden) of Heian Jingu Shrine, which enshrines Emperor Kanmu. We offer this ceremonial experience for groups such as companies that are looking to celebrate anniversaries or the achievement of a milestone.

Japanese Tea Brewing Plan

This is tea seminar led by Hidetoshi Kanbayashi. You have a lecture about the history and types of Japanese tea, and also have the opportunity to learn how to properly brew tea by actually watching the tea master. Depending on the number of people participants, you may get a chance to experience brewing Japanese tea yourself.

Japanese Sake Tasting

Gekkeikan is a Japanese sake brand from Fushimi, Kyoto. This sake tasting consists of finger foods and 5 types of Japanese sake which have been carefully selected by Ms. Yamaguchi. This sake tasting features various types of sake from rare types that are only available seasonally to standard sakes available year-round. You will have a detailed explanation of Japanese sake from its production process to its history. Please feel free to contact us about specific requests for the tasting (such as customizing the lineup of sake to include Aged Sake and Luxury Sake).

Traditional Japanese Umbrella Making

20 This course will give you the chance to experience the sophisticated craft of traditional Japanese umbrella making by Hiyoshiya. You can get the opportunity to choose and attach washi paper to a miniature umbrella frame and paint the umbrella. You can even take the umbrella home with you after it has dried.
